You can’t get the CD anymore but the mix is about on several platforms, here is it from my fav one – Mixcloud. I remember talking to Budgie about this, he had just come back from a trip to Chicago, Philly and Baltimore and clearly came back with some amazing finds.
I love Gospel music. I like the sentiments and the musicianship of Gospel artists is second to none. Some of the best bass lines are to be found in Gospel tracks. So this mix was a Godsend (not sure if this pun is intended…). I listen to it often and lots of my friends have thanked me for the gift of pointing them to it.
I had, however, been bugging Budgie about another one; he has been busy of course, with the aforementioned Piff Gang (yeah the disparity is his musical leanings is a wonder to me too, sign of a true music lover I say) and working with other people including Lucky Me’s S-Type.
I bugged and bugged, and then forgot to bug more…. but Lo! Budgie has put together a new comp…
…and it’s out now on Honest Jons records, and £4.99 bargin! That my friends is what I say ‘SCORE’ to.
